4 Sweet delicacies for Father’s Day
1.- Brown Glacé
These chocolates made with glazed chestnuts are one of the most appreciated sweets by sugar gourmets.
Its laborious elaboration makes it an expensive bonbon and, therefore, only suitable for very special occasions. In Spain we can taste it since relatively recently, since its origin is located in southern France and northern Italy, and it was not until a few decades ago that we began to import it to our country.
Its recipe was jealously guarded by French monks in the Middle Ages, but centuries later a royal chef rescued the recipe, improving it to offer his French king the best chestnut bonbon ever tasted.
Currently there are several factories of marron glacé in our country. At Casa Mira we make them handmade and wrap them one by one to preserve all their flavor, this makes them a perfect gift for Father’s Day.

3.- Walnut yolk

The reason that today we celebrate Father’s Day is Manuela Vicente Ferrero, a teacher who wanted to honor the fathers of her students after a demand of fathers who wanted to have a special day as mothers had.
The teacher expressed this wish in the magazine El Magisterio Español, and the first day dedicated to fathers was celebrated with a mass, gifts that her own daughters had prepared, and a festival of theater, poetry and dance. The perfect day for the celebration was
However, many other countries in Europe and Latin America adopted the U.S. date, i.e., the third Sunday in June, and March 19 is celebrated as Dia del Hombre.
