How long does nougat last?

The nuts, together with the sugar, are excellent preservatives, which means that the nougat keeps quite well for many months. Of course, as long as the nougat bar is not opened.

For a better preservation we must protect it from sunlight, and with a constant temperature, in this way it can be kept up to 10 months, depending on the type of variety of nougat.

The varieties that last the least are those with combinations of fruits or less durable products such as yolk. After that date, nougat can be eaten without problems, but it loses some of its qualities and flavor.

Is nougat ice cream healthy?

Ice cream as a general rule is a sweet with a very high caloric load, which does not make it the most popular dessert among healthy lovers. However, there is an exception that confirms this rule: homemade Jijona nougat ice cream.

Jijona nougat is made from almonds and honey, which in its composition provides 20% protein and 54% fat, although most of these fats are oleic acid, beneficial for the regulation of cholesterol.

On the other hand, Jijona nougat provides the body with potassium, zinc, vitamins B and E, calcium, magnesium and folic acid. Moreover, if the nougat is of good quality, i.e., without artificial additives and handmade, it has a low fat content, helps control blood pressure and provides the body with a lot of energy.

And, if you still have doubts, here you will find more information on whether nougat is healthy.
